Position Title: Finance Manager

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Lead and direct budgeting and forecasting submissions to Corporate with the stakeholders from both operations and finance
• Manage ongoing monitoring of actuals versus budget/forecast on monthly basis and explain all material variances
• Lead budget reviews and forecast changes during the year to ensure the companies remain focused and aligned with the targets set in the budget

Accounting & Finance Reporting

• Manage month end close cycle in accordance with issued timetable and ensure that reporting and accounts preparation is completed in a timely and efficient manner as per the Corporate reporting deadlines
• Review and challenge reported results with the team to ensure proper justifications and comments are made to explain variances to the Senior Management
• Analyze financial reports following the Corporate standard financial projections and ensure compliance with corporate standards, processes and policies at all times.

Cost Management

• Constantly monitor the market with the operational teams to identify opportunities for reducing cost of materials and services
• Provide decision support by financial modelling, business case analysis and financial/ management reporting
• Evaluate financial implications of specific business decisions/opportunities and advise management accordingly to support targeted financial performance achievement

Treasury Management

• Monitor cash flow requirements for the unit and ensure necessary funding requests made in a timely manner
• Liaise with banks to get funding offers and negotiate terms and conditions with them
• Lead initiatives to optimize the use of available funds and reduce debt exposure and liability
• Assume ultimate responsibility for meeting the Corporate targets in terms of Free Cash Flow

Internal Controls and Audit

• Liaise with the external auditors/consultants in the initial stages to identify audit requirements
• Develop necessary internal control procedures to increase efficiency of operations and minimize business exposure
• Compliance with legislation in the field of accounting and tax accounting and reporting

Skill Essential to the Job

Technical

• University degree in Finance, Taxation, Accounting
• ACCA/CIMA Qualified.
• Experience in a similar role with 7+ years’ experience within an oil and gas company.
• Experience of working with Government authorities (Tax inspection, Social Fund, etc.)
• Extensive computer skills (Excel, Power Point, Word, LN, 1C)
