JOB ANNOUNCEMENT Programme Coordinator
Oxfam GB’s Azerbaijan programme has recently been awarded funding by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and has a number of vacancies that we are looking to fill in our Barda office.
This project will focus on employment and income generation of the rural poor through development of vegetables and crops production, as well as processing and the establishment of marketing value chains in the Barda, Tartar and Agdam districts of Azerbaijan. This project will be applying the Making Markets Work for the Poor approach with a view to fostering pro-poor growth within the sub-sectors of vegetable and crops.
The main scope of this project will be to facilitate and catalyze incentives, capacity development and improved interaction between private sector, government players and associations. In delivering this project Oxfam GB will be working closely with Unilever to link farmers to Unilever’s global supply chains through the Knorr brand in Azerbaijan. Key activities: • Manage all programme activities in line with donor requirements and budget, prepare high quality donor reports in line with donor reporting requirements • Monitoring and evaluation of programme activities which feeds into programme development and responsible for learning and sharing emerging from the programs • Liaise with the programmes key stakeholders, partners, local experts, communities and local Government officials and engender synergies amongst the various actors • Facilitate networking and coordination with external stakeholders as per the program needs • Contribute directly to the results around mitigation of vulnerability of the rural poor and enhancing women’s role in governance • Manage and monitor administration, financial and logistics systems and procedures for the Barda office including effective staff security procedures and draw up special security guidelines in the event of serious security risk
Key competencies: • Previous experience of coordinating delivery of an agricultural livelihoods programme • Previous line management and supporting the personal development of staff experience • Excellent representation, negotiation and influencing skills. • Excellent organisational skills and ability to achieve results • Excellent verbal and written communications skills and the ability to relate to people from all backgrounds. • Strong interpersonal and team work skills and proven ability to be flexible in demanding situations • Language skills – fluent in English and Russian/Azeri
