Civil Engineer
Department: Mining and Feasibility
Reports to: Mining Manager
SUMMARY Reporting to the Mining Manager, you will be mainly responsible for construction, operations and maintenance activities at project site.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Include the following. • Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects. • Plan and design roads and structures, following construction and government standards, using design software and drawing tools. • Compute load and grade requirements, material stress factors to determine design specifications. • Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety standards. • Direct construction, operations, and maintenance activities at project site. • Direct or participate in surveying to lay out installations and establish reference points, grades, and elevations to guide construction. • Estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labor to determine project feasibility. • Prepare or present public reports, such as bid proposals, deeds, environmental impact statements, and property and right-of-way descriptions. • Test soils and materials to determine the adequacy and strength of foundations, concrete, asphalt, or steel. • Provide technical advice regarding design, construction, or program modifications and structural repairs to industrial and managerial personnel. • Conduct studies of traffic patterns or environmental conditions to identify engineering problems and assess the potential impact of projects
• Perform analysis and design calculations for all structural aspect of bridge and transportation structures. Typical bridge types include steel and concrete bridges. • Develop construction drawings for CAD Technicians. • Develop concepts and design of structural details for bridge projects. Steel bridge detailing experience preferred. • Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field); Master’s degree would be a distinct advantage; • At least 3-5 years of related work experience on transportation road/highway projects. • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services. • Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, or process information; • Knowledge of AutoCad program; • Must be Azeri and English speaking; knowledge of Russian and other languages would be a distinct advantage;

Administration and Management -- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
Transportation -- Knowledge of principles and methods for moving people or goods by road, including the relative costs and benefits.
Public Safety and Security -- Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS • Tertiary qualification in Civil engineering or relevant education; • Driver's license
WORKING CONDITIONS (If there are particular working conditions associated with this position that should be noted (i.e., working environment, travel, work space, etc.)
Must be available for travelling.
